Honasa Consumer pvt limited was founded in 2016 by Varun Alagh and Ghazal Alagh in Gurugram. The company is headquartered in Gurugram, India. It launched Mamaearth in 2016, a babycare, skincare and wellness brand. It also owns various brands like The Derma Co, Ayuga, Aqualogica.[3]

In September 2017, the company raised a second round of funding of $1 million led by Fireside Ventures and other individual investors.[4]

In April 2018, Mamaearth raised $250,000 (about Rs 1.6 crore) from actor and entrepreneur Shilpa Shetty Kundra.[5]

In September 2018, the company raised $4 million in a series A round of funding. It was led by venture capital firm Stellaris Venture Partners. Snapdeal founders Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal; Marico's Rishabh Mariwala were also participated in the round.[6] In January 2020, the company raised Rs 130 crore in a series B funding round led by Sequoia India with participation from existing investors, Fireside Ventures, Stellaris Venture Partners and Sharp Ventures.[7]

In July 2021, the company raised $50 million in series C round led by Belgian investment fund Sofina Ventures SA. [8] In 2022, Honasa Consumer Pvt. Ltd. became the first unicorn of 2022 with $52 million funding.[9]

Acquisition[edit]

In December 2021, Honasa Consumer pvt limited acquired female-oriented content platform, Momspresso.[10]

In 2022 the company acquired skincare brand BBlunt and Dr Seth's.[11][12][13]
