The International Society of Protocol & Etiquette Professionals (ISPEP)[1] is an NGO, founded in 2002 in Maryland, USA. It was founded by Cynthia W. Lett.[2] It is the first internationally recognized gathering for protocol and etiquette professionals. The organization sets the criteria by which high-level professionals in the field are determined. The chief mission of ISPEP is to provide professional certification for the CEP (Certified Etiquette Professional) and CPP (Certified Protocol Professional) which is obtained by formal examination and fulfillment of certain criteria. ISPEP has members from 14 countries.
Foundation[edit]
Cynthia Lett founded ISPEP in 2002.[3] She enlisted a Board of Advisors which included:
· Gloria Petersen: founder and president of Global Protocol, Inc.
· Robert. W. Frye: former Chief of Protocol for AT&T and Lucent Technologies.
· Hilka Klinkenberg: founder and managing director of Etiquette International.
· Trevor Gatty: former British consulate to Atlanta, Georgia and honorary British Consulate to Charlotte, NC.
