Europe's Georgia is a network of Georgian pro-European societies that aims to help the Republic of Georgia join the European Union in the future.[1]
History[edit]
The network was founded by the citizens of Georgia, the United Kingdom and Hungary in 2014 in Warsaw. The members of the organization work against fake-news and interpretation of statements made by the European politicians regarding Georgia's European integration and its progress. The organization was registered in Stockholm, Sweden on January 10, 2020 as a non-governmental organization. But later it continued working as a media platform (EuropesGeorgia.space) for independent journalists.
Activities[edit]
On September 14, a group of youths from Georgia and Georgian Orthodox Church in Sweden held the first-ever Tbilisi City Fest. Supported by Europe's Georgia and the Georgian Embassy in Stockholm. Tbilisi City Fest aimed to increase knowledge about Georgia as a touristic destination and promote Georgia and its rich culture in Sweden.[2] Looking to promote Georgia in Sweden, where events introducing Georgian culture have been few and far between, the festival team hosted those flocking to Attundavägen 3 for everything from tasting the celebrated Georgian wine to learning about its UNESCO-recognised alphabet.[3]
"Georgia is a country that needs more promotion in the western countries. Tbilisi City Fest’s and our network’s goals are met this way: we both aim to promote Georgia with its culture, products and tourism potential, we both see our country the same way," Chairman of 'Europe’s Georgia' said.[4]
