The Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JKJAAC) is an alliance of civil rights groups based in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Pakistan. It is a broad coalition formed by various stakeholders, including traders unions, transport unions and pro-freedom political parties.[1]
Recent Events (May 2024)[edit]
The JKJAAC played a prominent role in the recent demonstrations in AJK regarding high prices and resource allocation. They presented a list of demands to the government, which included subsidies on essential goods and electricity. After negotiations, the government agreed to meet some of their demands, leading to the suspension of the protests.[2]
