Jeleel Yussuf, (born October 14, 1995), better known for his stagename JELEEL!, is an American rapper. He is celebrated combining elements from hiphop, indie rock, trap, drill music and afrobeats[2] as well as hyperpop and emo rap[3] among others. He is know for his energetic songs and high-pitch vocals that clash with his muscular physique which he regularly shows off on his social media chanels, mainly on TikTok. XXL calls JELEEL! "one of the most polarizing rookies in the game of hip-hop"[1], while Complex featured him in their lineup for best new artists in march 2022[4].
In 2019, JELEEL! released his first album, titled Angel from Heaven. In 2020, he released his second project, the Generation Z, followed by a deluxe version a year later which featured 4 new songs. JELEEL! had his break through in 2021 with the single DIVE IN! which became popular through TikTok[4]. Dive In! was followed by the standout singles JELEELJUICE!, JULY! and RAIN ON YOU!. In early 2022, JELEEL! confirmed a forthcoming album titled Real Raw[5].
Early life[edit]
JELEEL! was born October 14, 1995 and grew up in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Upon graduating from Loyola University Maryland, he moved to Los Angeles to refine his musical abilities[1].
JELEEL! describes himself as being "inspired by the likes of Kid Cudi, 50 Cent and DMX"[6]
