Juun.J is a global fashion label founded by Korean designer Jung Wook Jun. The brand was launched in 2007 in Seoul, South Korea, and later joined Samsung C&T Corporation Fashion Group in 2012. Juun.J is distributed in various multi and mono shops worldwide, including department stores such as Harrods(London)[1] and Galeries Lafayette(Paris). [2] Business of Fashion selected Jung Wook Jun as one of 500 people shaping the fashion industry, as 'the Korean designer behind one of Asia's most successful menswear labels, Juun.J'. [3]

Background[edit]

In 1999, designer Jung Wook Jun created his first label "Lone Costume" after graduating from ESMOD Seoul and working at several fashion houses. The brand was later renamed "Juun.J" after the designer's Korean name, and debuted at Men's Paris Fashion Week. The brand is heavily influenced by military themes, and attempts to deconstruct and reinterpret traditional fashion items. In 2012, Juun.J joined Samsung C&T Corporation Fashion Group, which helped further fund and enable the brand's global expansion. In January 2016, Juun.J became the first Korean guest designer to show at Pitti Uomo[4], held in Florence, Italy. With the rising global popularity, Juun.J has been spotted worn by global celebrities like Rihanna.[5]

Collections[edit]

Juun.J has been showing at Paris Fashion Week every season since its debut in 2007. Juun.J designs are based on a modern reinterpretation of men’s suits, trench coats and dress shirts in a more gender-neutral style. After the launch of women’s capsule collection in 2017, Juun.J officially launched its womenswear line at Spring Summer 2019 collection during Paris Fashion Week.[6]

Collaborations[edit]

In 2008 and 2009, Juun.J collaborated with Reebok[7], featuring its signature high-top sneakers. In 2014, Juun.J collaborated with Samsung Electronics, with the product Galaxy Note 10.1 edition[8]. The Adidas Originals by Juun.J collaboration in 2014[9] featured the legendary Adidas Superstar model with Juun.J’s touch by deconstructing the iconic three stripes. In 2015, Juun.J redefined the iconic Adidas ZX80900[10] model for Fall Winter 2015-2016 collection. In 2019, Juun.J collaborated with Canada Goose (clothing)[11] using some of their key outerwear designs including Resolute 3-in-1 Parka, Snow Mantra Parka, and Expedition Parka.
