"Kimmy Kisses a Boy!" is the fifth episode of the first season of the American streaming television sitcom Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. The episode premiered in the United States on Netflix on March 6, 2015. The show's teleplay was written by Allison Silverman with additional writing from Robert Carlock and Tina Fey, the show's creators. "Kimmy Kisses a Boy!" was directed by Linda Mendoza.

In this episode, Kimmy Schmidt's (Ellie Kemper) friend Cyndee Pokorny (Sara Chase) and her boyfriend Brandon Yeagley (Brandon W. Jones) visits her in New York. However, Kimmy's roommate Titus Andromedon (Titus Burgess) quickly realizes that Brandon is gay. Meanwhile, Kimmy begins a relationship with her co-worker, Charles (Andy Ridings). Kimmy also decides to get her G.E.D. and Titus worries that he is getting too old to find love.

Plot[edit]

In the episode's cold open, Kimmy Schmidt (Ellie Kemper) is cat-called by a construction worker, Mikey Politano (Mike Carlsen). However, because of Kimmy's naiveté, she takes it as a compliment. Mikey, thinking she's being sarcastic, quickly apologizes and questions his life choices. When Kimmy returns home, she tells her roommate Titus Andromedon (Titus Burgess) that her friend Cyndee Pokorny (Sara Chase) and her boyfriend Brandon Yeagley (Brandon W. Jones) are coming to visit from Durnsville, Indiana. Kimmy asks Titus not to ask Cyndee about the bunker, which he reluctantly agrees to, though he quickly breaks his promise. When they arrive, Titus tells Kimmy that he suspects Brandon is gay. Though Kimmy denies this, Brandon accidentally admits it at lunch. He explains to Kimmy that he agreed to date Cyndee because the whole town feels bad for her past. After Titus fails to seduce Brandon, he begins to think that he is too old to find love. The next day, Brandon proposes to Cyndee and Kimmy decides that the lie has gone too far. Kimmy outs Brandon but Cyndee reveals that she already knows. Cyndee explains that even though Brandon's gay, she still wants him because it's all she's wanted since she was in high school. As Titus is walking in New York, he passes by the same construction worker, Mikey, who asks Titus out, admitting that he is gay. While flattered, Titus declines as Mikey is "not ready" yet.

Meanwhile at Jaqueline Voorhees' (Jane Krakowski) house, Kimmy flirts with her co-worker Charles (Andy Ridings), who asked her on a date in the previous episode. Sometime later, he calls her and tells her that he wants to take their relationship "to the next level." Kimmy agrees and he tells her that he loves her. The next day, she goes back to the Voorhees' residence and tells Charles that she loves him too. However, he explains that it was all a big confusion. He explains that he accidentally called her while gaming with a friend. He tells her that she is too new to the dating experience and breaks up with her. Frustrated, Kimmy decides to fulfill one of her dreams from the bunker and get her G.E.D. Excited to start a new chapter, she does the ending pose from The Breakfast Club, though it is un-noticed by the high school's administration.
