Kjell Flekkoy

Kjell Flekkoy (born 1 December 1939) is professor emeritus of clinical neuropsychology at the University of Oslo and Oslo University Hospital Ulleval, Norway. His primary areas of research and clinical work have been within psychiatry (schizophrenia, primarily), cognitive psychology and neuropsychology. Within the latter discipline he established and headed Dept. of Neuropsychology at Oslo University Hospital Ulleval. Abroad, he initiated and supervised a nationwide, longitudinal study of head trauma effects in Iceland.

He was a postdoctoral scholar with late prof. Erik H. Lenneberg at Cornell University, visiting researcher at Lund University, Sweden, and visiting professor at The University of Perth, Western Australia, and University of Odense, Denmark; depts of psychiatry. His present works deals with the nature of qualia, the subjective aspects of consciousness, aiming at a physically complete description of the mind-brain interaction.
