Mark Ginzburg (Script error: The function "langx" does not exist., Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.; born 28 September 1956) is an American and Ukrainian businessman and public figure, the vice-president of the FC Dynamo Kyiv for innovation. President of the Ukrainian Federation of Robotics.[1]

Biography[edit]

In 2007, after negotiations with Donald Trump, he tried to build a skyscraper on European Square designed by architect Norman Foster, but this was prevented by the global financial crisis.[2]

In July 2017 he took part in the innovation summit organized by Richard Branson on Necker Island.[3] On September 25 of the same year, he organized and carried out the sale of real estate for cryptocurrency using a smart contract and blockchain technology; the buyer of the apartment was the founder of the technology media company TechCrunch, Michael Arrington.[4][5][6] The agreement was concluded through the mediation of the international platform Propy, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine and the State Agency for Electronic Government of Ukraine [uk].[7] On May 18, 2018, he took part as a speaker at the annual TEDx conference held in Ulaanbaatar with the topic of the report “Eradicating corruption in the highest echelons of government using blockchain technology.”[8] In 2021, he organized and conducted NFT sales of tickets for football matches.[9][10]

In October 2018 he organized gynoid Sofia's official visit to Ukraine.[11][12][13] On October 11, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman signed a memorandum of cooperation between the government of Ukraine and the Hong Kong companies Hanson Robotics and AngelVest regarding the development of robotics and artificial intelligence in Ukraine.[14] The next day, he participated in the finals of the All-Ukrainian competition of ideas and startups “Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.”[15] The jury for this event included David Chen, CFO of Hanson Robotics and CEO of AngelVest, and gynoid robot Sophia. More than 400 teams and startups from all over Ukraine submitted applications for participation in the competition, and 12 finalists demonstrated a high level of international development. According to the unanimous opinion of the jury, 3 projects that met the high standards of Silicon Valley were selected as winners. In July of the same year, he was invited as a representative of the city of Kyiv to the forum [es] of mayors of cities along the New Silk Road in Astana, Kazakhstan. In 2019, he was appointed Ambassador to Ukraine of the Global BlockChain Business Council (GBBC).[16]

In 2017, he was appointed President of the Federation of Robotics of Ukraine.[17] He gave lectures at Ukrainian universities, including Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University, National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv Institute of International Relations [uk], Odesa National Polytechnic University, Kyiv Cooperative Institute of Business and Law [uk], University of Banking [uk] and Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University.[18][19][20][21]
