MAVRO received wide publicity after Sergey Mavrodi ridiculed Bitcoin holders and urged them to invest in Mavro[4][5].
Sergey Mavrodi mentioned the cryptocurrency MAVRO in his last interview with Forbes. Mavrocoin mining is carried out on the basis of POS mining technology, which is successfully used on many coins in the cryptocurrency world.[6]
Mavrocoin had a price of $2.89 according to CoinMarketCap in May 2020.[7]

History
Mavro was created in 2016 by an assistant to Sergey Mavrodi, a programmer from Israel, Victor Geld, who was a participant in MMM 2011. He wanted to create a cryptocurrency that would be closer to most of the MMM participants, as well as avoid the history of Bitcoin, particularly related to the sale of drugs.[9][10]
On December 27, 2017, an article about the cryptocurrency MAVRO was published on Russia Today. [11]

On December 22, 2017, Mavrodi announced the restart of his "cryptocurrency" due to the growth of the Bitcoin exchange rate[15]
In December 2017, Mavrodi promised to arrange a financial apocalypse using the Mavro cryptocurrency[16][17][18]
On July 20, 2018, the BBC investigation on the Mavro cryptocurrency came out. It included the founder of PRIZM, Aleksey Muratov, Mavrodi's right hand in MMM 2011, Alexander Kolbasov, and Coin Developer Victor Geld.[19]
On May 16, 2020, the Ethereum network was overloaded due to the Mavrodi project[20]
Transactions
Mavro, like Bitcoin and Litecoin, uses public key hash addressing. Mavro addresses consist of 34 characters (both upper and lower case) and begin with the letter M.
