Miraj Bibi (born January 15, 1975 is a Pakistani female teacher and mother language education activist. She is known for her activism for girls' and women's rights, especially for her free tuition center for deserving boys and girls to tach them in their own mother languages and to encourage and support to go to school. Miraj Bibi is the first Pakistani woman to have won the Public Peace Prize in the year 2018 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Northern Pakistan.[1]

Life[edit]

Miraj was born in the town of Shadandur village, Khot, Torkhow Valley, Tehsil Mastuj in the Chitral District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. After receiving Public Peace Prize, the PPP presented tribute to Miraj Bibi in French language certifying that :

Distinction octroyée pour son dévouement et sa détermination à promouvoir sans relâche l’éducation des femmes et des enfants défavorisés au-delà des préjugés sociaux et culturels, devenant un symbole de l’engagement social au service de plus démunis. FÉLICITATIONS!

Honours[edit]

Besides the Public Peace Prize in 2018, Miraj has been honoured for her work many times by national and international level. She was awarded prizes for her selfless serviced for women education in Pakistan.
