Moolapatrai (Tamil: மூலப்பட்டறை) is a neighbourhood in Erode district of Tamil Nadu state in the peninsular India.[1][2]
Moolapatrai is located at an altitude of about 199 m above the mean sea level with the geographical coordinates of 11°21′04″N 77°43′22″E / 11.351200°N 77.722700°E
(i.e., 11°21'04.3"N, 77°43'21.7"E). Erode, Thirunagar Colony, Surampatti, Moolapalayam, Pallipalayam, Kollampalayam, Perumalmalai and Brahmana Periya Agraharam are some of the important neighbourhoods of Moolapatrai.
Due to the by-election in Erode East Assembly constituency on 27 February 2023 and campaigning of political parties, Moolapatrai is one of the areas of traffic congestion.[3]
Moolapatrai area falls under the Erode East Assembly constituency.[4] Due to the demise of the MLA of this constituency, the constituency is vacant. Also, this area belongs to Erode Lok Sabha constituency. The winner of the election held in the year 2019, as the member of its Lok Sabha constituency is A. Ganeshamurthi.[5]
