MoonPaw (Ticker Symbol: MOONPAW) is a philanthropic organisation and cryptocurrency launched in 2021 by co-founders Prem Aghera and Liam Peeters. MoonPaw was designed to help wildlife conservational charities leverage blockchain for their social impact endeavours.[1]
By March 2022, MoonPaw had donated approximately $70,000 USD to several charities including Possum Valley Animal Sanctuary, Pug Rescue Victoria, Geelong Animal Rescue and Rocket Dog Rescue which at the time was acknowledged by long-time supporter Billy Markus, creator of Dogecoin.[2]
In May 2022, MoonPaw had partnered with Immutable X[3], a carbon-neutral [4] layer-2 scaling solution for NFTs on Ethereum to promote carbon neutrality in blockchain and Non-fungible token usage.
The founders have said that their ultimate goal is to help destigmatise the industry[5], helping not only charities but also showcasing a path for many small businesses to leverage blockchain for good. [6]
