Munir Shah is a social worker[1] and politician from PML(N) party hailing from village and union council Peeran. He has contested in 2013 general elections for KP assembly and 2015 local government election for tehsil council Mansehra. In the initial result of the 2015 election he lost, but was declared a winner by the election commission after recounting under supervision of the district session judge.[2] Later, the recounting decision was dismissed by the Peshawar High Court, resulting in Nadir Khan being declared the winner. He gained fame on local as well as national media after his firing incident inside the premises of the district session court Mansehra.[3][4][5] He made headlines in national media after he, along with other candidates, withdrew from the by-Election for the UC Peeran seat for Tehsil council Mansehra, citing that elections would create a law and order problem in the union council, leaving the seat unfilled for the first time on request of the candidates.[6]
