Nabi Bakhsh Khan

Nabi Bakhsh Khan (1910 - 1989) was a sarangi player from Pakistan. [1]

Early Life[edit]

He was born in Jhanjjar. He lost his father when he was still very young.

Career[edit]

He learned to play sarangi from his uncle Hussain Bakhsh and Badal Khan from Panipat. He was a staff artist at All India Radio Delhi and Radio Pakistan. Khan accompanied many great singers of his time including Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, Nazakat and Salamat Ai Khan, Roshan Ara Begum, Umeed Ali Khan, Barkat Ali Khan Amir Khan and more. He also played sarangi solos and has won the Pride Performance Award in 1986. [2] [3]

Death[edit]

Khan died in 1989 in Lahore at the age of 79. [4]
