Ndamira Catherine Atwikiire (born 13 August 1977) is an Ugandan accountant, legislator and business woman. She was re-elected into the 11th parliament of Uganda as a district woman representative for Kabale District which is the Kigezi Sub-Region under the ruling National Resistance Movement political party.[1][2] She was a member of Public Accounts Committee and also a member of committee on Health in the 10th parliament of Uganda.[1] She is also a member of The Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Social Protection which was conceived to do a number of things inclusive of Advocacy, influence, Oversight[disambiguation needed] & Monitoring[disambiguation needed] Representation[disambiguation needed].[3]

Background and education[edit]

Ndamira Catherine Atwikiire was born on 13 August 1977 from a catholic family.[1][2] She completed her Primary Leaving Examinations in 1990 from Muyumbu Primary School. She then went to Rubirizi S.S.S. for her Uganda Certificate of Education which she completed in 1994. She remained at the same school Rubirizi S.S.S. for her Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education which she completed in 1997. She then went for a Certificate in Business Administration in Makerere University Business School from where she graduated in 2008. She graduated with a Diploma in Business Studies in 2010 from Makerere University Business School. She went for her Bachelor of Business Administration and Management in Uganda Martyrs University and she graduated in 2014.[1]

Work experience[edit]

From 2010 to 2015, she previously worked as the financial administrator for VIDAS Engineering Services Co. Ltd. She was elected as District Representative woman member in 2016. Atwikiire is a member of the Public Accounts Committee and Committee on Health. She was also appointed to be on the committee for East African Community Affairs.[2] She is also a member of The Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Social Protection which was conceived to do a number of things inclusive of Advocacy, influence, Oversight[disambiguation needed] & Monitoring[disambiguation needed] Representation[disambiguation needed].[3]

Notable works[edit]

Ndamira Atwakire gave domestic pigs, beans, maize and cabbage to the citizens of Kabale, strengthened local marketing of baskets and mats, gave tap water to citizens, implemented youth programs Like SACCOS (Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations),[4] provided ambulances to Health Centers and implemented the installation of security lights.[2] She also has supported games and sports within Kabale District.[5] She has promoted and supported Education within Kabale District[6] as she participated in the fundraising function of the construction of Kagunga Technical School.[7] She supported the COVID-19 task force with fuel.[8]
