Polity Online (also known as Polity) is a user-generated MMORPG developed and published by JIB Games, a Turkish game studio. The game has professions and activities including casual games and co-op city-building.[1] It was released in early access on November 5, 2021.[2]
Gameplay[edit]
Polity Online is an online virtual world based on social interaction with players and performing specific professions, such as farming, presidency, and forestry within a sci-fi story. Players can rule their own country or become citizens of other players' countries on a planet called Blue Dot 2 (BD-2). The professions and the countries consist of various quests and popular casual games, which are aimed to be educational and entertaining at the same time.It is designed to create a purpose-based atmosphere; in this way, players can internalize the profession on their way to being a president or a successful jobholder. There is a quest line for each profession: Some are unique to the profession, others are common Citizenship quests.Being a Citizen is the first step of the game. It is key for the player to have a profession and gain citizenship points to become a presidential candidate when the election comes. It is up to the player to participate. Professions revolve around collecting and crafting through machines and selling or trading them. There is an order board to sell the goods, and players can contribute them to the construction sites in order to gain citizenship points. Collecting and crafting help players to gain experience points of the profession.Presidents are responsible for decorating the platforms which are cities of the country and opening constructions for the citizens. These citizens help the constructions to be opened by contributing crafted materials to them. This actualizes the co-op city-building part of the game[3][4].[5]
Story[edit]
The game is set on a mysterious planet called Blue Dot 2 (BD-2). This planet is discovered by an AI-powered spaceship, JP-01G. The AI system, Snotra, collects data about this mysterious planet: It is mostly covered with water, but there is no sign of life. Snotra gains a kind of consciousness and fabricates humanoids. She desires them to have new civilizations built on BD-2. A group of droids was also sent to the planet to help humanoids to adapt[2].[6]
