Rental Center Crete is a Greek car rental company headquartered in Heraklion, Crete. The company has provided car rental services on the island of Crete for more than five decades.[1][2][3]
History
Rental Center Crete was founded in 1975 by four friends, including Kostas Anapliotis. Anapliotis later became the sole owner and expanded the company through collaborations with international travel organizations. The company gradually developed into a family business, with the sons of Anapliotis — led by Harry Anapliotis, the current CEO — taking over operations. Since January 2005, Harry Anapliotis has played a key role in modernizing the company by integrating digital marketing, product design, and web development into its operations.[4]
Headquarters and operations
Rental Center Crete is headquartered at Nidas 1, Heraklion, Crete, Greece 71307, and manages more than 18 rental locations across the island. Key sites include Heraklion International Airport, Heraklion Port, Hersonissos, Gouves, Kokkini Hani, Malia, Stalis, and Agia Pelagia in the Heraklion region; Chania International Airport in the Chania region; Agios Nikolaos, Sissi, and Elounda in Lassithi; as well as Bali and Georgioupolis in Rethymno. As of 2024, the company employs about 40 staff members.[5]
Services
Rental Center Crete offers a range of vehicles including economy and compact cars, family cars, SUVs and 4x4s, jeeps, and luxury models. Vans and minibuses are also available for larger groups. Each rental includes comprehensive insurance with no excess, theft protection, unlimited mileage, and no credit card deposit. Customers also benefit from free cancellation up to 48 hours before pick-up.[6]
Reputation and recognition
Rental Center Crete has built a reputation for reliability and customer satisfaction. From 2021 to 2022, it achieved a customer review score of 95.8% based on thousands of reviews. The company has been recognized as the leading local car rental service on Crete.
Leadership
Harry Anapliotis is the current Chief Executive Officer. He assumed leadership in 2005 and has since managed the company with a focus on digital transformation and customer service.[7]
