Robbar is a Bengali literary magazine[2] published by Sangbad Pratidin from India on every Sunday. Since from the early days of publication in 2006 it interested Bengali intelligentsia[3] and got popular for eminent filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh[4] who edited the weekly till his death in 2013[5] before Anindya Chatterjee[6] became the editor.
Robbar is an issue driven cultural magazine mainly contains feature stories and regular columns. Notable Bengali author Nabaneeta Dev Sen had written her autobiographical column Bhalobashar Baranda[7] in Robbar. Rituparno Ghosh’s autobiographical[8] column First Person[9] got published in the editorial section every week. Poet Joy Goswami[10], Chandril Bhattacharya[11][12], indologist[13] Nrisingha Prasad Bhaduri, essayist Sudhir Chakraborty had written regularly for the magazine. Chinmoy Guha’s Sahitya Akademi Award[14] winning prose collection Ghumer Dorja Thele[15] was primarily a series published in Robbar.
