Roch Roger Buchon, better known as solely Roch, is a Dutch-French recording artist.
Early life
Roch was born on December 22, 2003[1], in Purmerend, The Netherlands to a French father and a Dutch mother.
Career
Ever since the artist got into Melanie Martinez, he started writing songs and beginning his music career at the age of 14. On his Instagram story, he stated: "Melanie is such an amazing artist. Because of her, I realized everyone could write songs with deeper meanings to which they relate. She, together with other artists, opened the pathway to my career."[2]
He has gained a great amount of songwriting credits; he has worked with a lot of artists ranging from small acquaintances to one of his best friends (Kiki (artist)). By dropping and removing numerous songs on his SoundCloud, he was experimenting with multiple different genres. On his YouTube Bio, he talks about experimenting: "Versatility is very important to him, explaining how he wants to swerve in between multiple genres, creating a unique sound."[3]
On January 31st, 2021, the artist dropped his Youtube-Only hyperpop EP, "The Internet", creating a new pathway for futuristic Hip-hop. According to himself, he released this EP for fun and there was no intention for it to gain popularity.[4] Despite this, a month later the EP got removed from YouTube for an unknown reason.
On February 17th, 2021, a new song demo was announced called "Hands On Me" which was released that Sunday on YouTube.
