Shoutout is an Armenian online social media and social networking service owned by AiP LLC.

Founded in 2021 by Alen Hovhannisians. Membership was initially limited to invited people who have a big audience on other social media. In one month, Shoutout claimed 1 million active users.[1]

Shoutout can be accessed from devices with Internet connectivity, such as personal computers, tablets, and smartphones. After registering, users can create a profile revealing information about themselves. They can post text, photos, and multimedia which are shared with any other users who have agreed to be their "follower" or, with different privacy settings, publicly. Users can also communicate directly with each other with Shoutout Messenger, join common-interest groups, and receive notifications on the activities of their Shoutout follows and pages they follow.

In August of 2021 have created a private social network and gave access to people who were invited to the platform. By the sources, there were over 20 invited people and 30 businesses. After 2 weeks of the first beta release of Shoutout. The website was accessible to everyone. One month has passed since the first public release and Shoutout has over million active users.

User profile/personal timeline[edit]

Each registered user on Shoutout has a personal profile that shows their posts and content. The format of individual user pages is known as "Timeline", a chronological feed of a user's stories, including status updates, photos, interactions with apps, and events. The layout lets users add a "cover photo". Users were given more privacy settings. With the first beta, Shoutout launched Shoutout Pages for brands and celebrities to interact with their fanbase. 100 Pages launched in September. Shoutout is also has a "Usernames" feature, allowing users to choose a unique nickname used in the URL for their personal profile, for easier sharing.

News Feed[edit]

News Feed appears on every user's homepage and highlights information including profile changes, upcoming events, and friends' birthdays. Users are able to prevent user-set categories of friends from seeing updates about certain types of activities, including profile changes, Wall posts, and newly added friends.

The Photos feature allows users to upload albums and photos. Privacy settings apply to individual albums. Users can "tag", or label, friends in a photo. The friend receives a notification about the tag with a link to the photo.

On September 18, Shoutout launched its "Entertainment center"[2] with this feature users can play games, watch movies, and shopping.

Shoutout in association with major news portals launched "Instant Articles" to provide news on the Shoutout news feed without leaving the site.

In September 2021, Shoutout launched Stories[3]. The feature, following the format of Snapchat and Instagram stories, allows users to upload photos and videos that appear above friends' and followers' News Feeds and disappear after 24 hours.

Instant Messaging[edit]

Shoutout Messenger[4] is an instant messaging service and software application.

Complementing regular conversations, Shoutout Messenger lets users make one-to-one and group voice and video calls[5]. Shoutout Messenger has a "Diary" feature that lets users share photos and videos in a story format with all their friends with the content disappearing after 24 hours; Reactions, which lets users tap and hold a message to add a reaction through an emoji; and Mentions, which lets users in group conversations type @ to give a particular user a notification.

Businesses and users can interact through Shoutout Messenger with features such as tracking purchases and receiving notifications and interacting with customer service representatives. Developers can build chatbots into Messenger, for uses such as news publishers building bots to distribute news.
