History[edit]

The Smartick method was born in 2009 due to an investigation on the usefulness of the teaching methods of the past, but due to the rise of technology they were outdated.[5] Javier Arroyo and Daniel González created an online teaching system inspired by the Kumon method with a loan of $100,000 euros and with the help of family and friends.[6][7]

That same year, they opened the first Smartick office in Malaga.[8] In 2020, it received through The Homeschool Review Crew the Blue Ribbon Award in the United States. It is currently in 36 countries.[9][10]
