Som Shekar (born 28 February 1986)[2] is an Indian film actor, model and martial artist, who has worked predominantly on Tamil films and television shows. He made his first Kollywood film appearance in Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai (2016) where he played a small role as "Musthafa". In 2020, he participated in Bigg Boss Tamil 4 as a contestant.[3][4]
Career
Som Shekar started his career by appearing on Star Vijay and emerged as the runner-up in Azhagiya Tamil Magan show telecasted in 2010.[5] He also later acted in various different commercial ads, his well known ad was with Bigil fame Reba Monica John for 3 roses.[6] He also acted in a short film called "Akku" (2013) as one of the lead roles and played the character "Prakash". In 2016, Somshekar made his first major film appearance in Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai as "Musthafa", introducing him to Kollywood cinema. He also acted in popular Tamil films like Velaiilla Pattadhari 2 (2017) as "Vasundhara's escort" and Soorarai Pottru (2020) as an "IAF cadet" doing minor roles in both films.[7] He also gave a small appearance in the Tamil film Pa Paandi (2017) as a "Letter boy" in the song "Vaanam". Later in 2020 he made a major television comeback by participating in Bigg Boss Tamil 4 hosted by the legendary actor Kamal Haasan he was the first finalist of the season by winning a ticket to the finale[8][9] he later became the 4th Runner-Up after surviving 105 days.[10]
