The Storm Runner trilogy is a series of three books published by J. C. Cervantes under the publishing imprint "Rick Riordan Presents" in 2018 through 2020. The story follows Zane Obispo, a godborn and the son of Aztec god Hurakan, who gets his powers from his "bum leg," which is shorter than his other leg. Other characters in the series include Brooks, who can shape shift, and Hondo, who often goes on adventures with Zane and Brooks.
Plot[edit]
Book 1[edit]
Zane Obispo is often teased at school for having one leg be shorter than the other, but when he goes to investigate the site of a recent incident in the inactive volcano in his backyard, he discovers that a dark god name Ah-Puch, Mayan mythology, has been released into the world, and has bonded with him. Zane seeks out help, but the only people he can find to assist him are a strange girl from his school named Brooks who turns out to be a shape-shifting Nawal and his psychic elderly neighbor, Ms. Cab.
As Zane digs deeper into the mystery of Ah-Puch, he discovers that he must adventure to the ancient lands to find the god and destroy him before he wreaks havoc upon the world.
Book 2[edit]
After being imprisoned on an island by Ixtab to keep him safe from the other gods, Zane realizes that his father, Hurakan, is in danger and must find a way off the island with Brooks, his uncle Hondo, and a new character who came to the island after getting Zane's message sent to all godborns at the end of The Storm Runner.
