Taia Translations Ltd is a cloud-based localization and translation management platform based in London, UK, with branches in Ljubljana (Slovenia) and Zagreb (Croatia). Taia serves companies in various industries including gaming, manufacturing, legal, tech, and e-commerce, amongst others.

History[edit]

Taia Translations was founded in 2018 by Marko Hozjan and Matija Kovač.[1] Hozjan is the CEO of the company, while Kovač serves as head of development. Prior to Taia, these two owners created the largest language education center in Slovenia, Jezikovna Akademija[2], with ten branches across the country.

In 2017, the company started operating as a traditional translation agency while creating a new business model and developing its own technology. Taia then came to life in its present form in October 2018 with an MVP platform.

Today, Taia combines neural language networks with a team of professional translators, using a seamless platform that keeps unnecessary human interaction to a minimum. This process enables the company to reduce the time and costs of translation services while ensuring accuracy and translation quality of the highest standards.[3][4]

Products and Services[edit]

Taia Professional Services provides companies with professional translation services. As a language service provider, the company offers services in legal translation, document translation, API integration, website translation, software translation, proofreading and audiovisual translation services. Users can order professional human translations as well as Machine translation, depending on their needs.

Catapult[5] is Taia's CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tool that assists human translators in the translation process. In order to help the human translator, the software uses Machine translation and translation memory systems. Users only review/correct the pre-translated text done by Catapult. The document is then downloaded in the same format as the pre-translated document... Typical users are translators, developers, product managers, localization managers, project managers, and marketing professionals.

Funding[edit]

In July 2019, Taia Translations raised a sum of €200,000 from the investment company AlpVent AG.[6] In October 2020, the company obtained its second investment of €1.2 million from the Fil Rouge Capital fund.[7][8] Taia Translations Ltd is a privately owned company.[9]
