History[edit]
In 1974, 104 buses were separated from the Pandian Transport Corporation and the Kattabomman Transport Corporation was formed with its headquarters at Nagercoil. Workshops covering Kanyakumari district were formed in 1983 by separating Kattabomman Transport Corporation and forming Nesamani Transport Corporation. After the formation of the Nesamani Transport Corporation, the headquarters of the Kattabomman Transport Corporation was shifted to Tirunelveli. When the Transport Corporations were renamed as the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation in 1997, the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation was merged with Madurai. Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, Transport Corporations from Madurai was divided with Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Kanyakumari Districts Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation was formed as Tirunelveli on 01.11.2010.

Tirunelveli zone[edit]
It covers Tirunelveli and Tenkasi districts. The zone has 11 workshops.
Nagercoil zone[edit]
The zone has 13 workshops, The zone operates more than 1000 buses daily.
Thoothukodi zone[edit]
This zone has 7 workshops, Covering Thoothukodi district.
