TamilNadu State Transport Corporation - Kumbakonam
Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation - Kumbakonam[1] is one of the eight transport corporations and the largest of the public sector transport corporations located in the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation in Tamil Nadu. It is headquartered at No. 27, Railway Station New Road, Kumbakonam. It handles bus services in around 11 districts in the delta zone of Tamilnadu.

History[edit]
The public sector owned buses were operating in Tamil Nadu from 1973 under the name of Chozhan Transport Corporation, Dheeran Chinnamalai Transport Corporation, Marudhu Pandiar Transport Corporation and Veeran Azhagu Muthukone Transport Corporation in the region. They were later integrated into a single transport corporation and was renamed as Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation - Kumbakonam in 1997. It is also known as 454-TAJ.
Bus Operations[edit]
- The TNSTC - Kumbakonam operates buses to major cities and towns in Tamilnadu such as Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Salem, Namakkal, Erode, Tirunelveli and major cities and towns in Puducherry such as Pondicherry and Karaikal.
- It also operates buses within the major cities and towns in the TNSTC - Kumbakonam zone such as Tiruchirapalli, Karur, Ramanathapuram, Kumbakonam, Rameswaram, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Sivagangai, Thanjavur, Pudukottai and Paramakudi.
- It also handles town bus services in Thanjavur District , Mayiladuthurai district, Nagapattinam District, Pudukkottai District, Ramanathapuram District, Sivaganga district, Tiruchirappalli District, Tiruvarur District, Karur District, Ariyalur District and Perambalur District.
