The palm tree and the neighbors (Arabic: [1]النخلة والجيران), is an Iraqi novel by the Iraqi writer Ghaib Taamah Farman, it was selected as one of the hundred Best Arabic novel. His novel was prepared as a play, and it was presented by the modern art theater band, and was at the forefront of Iraqi plays that won the admiration and approval of the audience.

Novel summary[2][edit]

The events of the novel "The Palm and the neighbors" by the Iraqi novelist Ghaib Taamah Farman were built against the background of the effects of the Second World War that happened in Iraq, as the daily life of its characters was formulated in the light of the repercussions of that war in Baghdad, they appeared devoid of Will, devoid of any positive action, and soon went in a state of despair to it hangs over it from all sides, the only palm tree withers, the house is sold, the stable is demolished, the narrow mud huts are almost devoid of movement, and it looks like Social participation is paralyzed, even disrupted, the prospects for marginalized personalities have been blocked, their will has been restricted by an obscure party, and they have become forgotten. They began to take revenge on each other by greed, murder and deception.
