TicketCo AS is a Norwegian multinational event technology company, offering a cloud based platform and app service that facilitates event organisers with aspects of event management and ticketing[1]. The company was founded in 2013 by Kåre Bottolfsen, Carl-Erik Michalsen Moberg and Hogne Sandanger[2] in Bergen, Norway.
The service is also available in the United Kingdom, where a subsidiary named TicketCo UK Ltd. was opened in 2017.[2][3]
History[edit]
The idea for TicketCo started with Carl Moberg, after years of experience as an event organiser himself. He started already as a teenager when he “had so many house parties” that he “started to charge entrance fees”. Later, he started to organise festivals, two of which financially failed. After establishing it is difficult for small players to organise events with“35% of the ticket revenue goes back to the ticketing agent” and “being forced to take the risk of not enabling advance sales but entirely relying on the sales at the door” the idea for TicketCo was born. Together with Kåre Bottolfsen TicketCo was launched in 2013.[4]
TicketCo has become one of the largest ticketing service operators in its home country Norway, alongside Ticketmaster and Eventim, since it was founded in 2013[2][5]

- In 2016, National Champions award by European Business Awards[6]
- In 2017, Entrepreneurship Price Of The Year by OPP, a cooperation between BTO, DNB, Innovation Norway, Hordaland County Council and Bergen Municipality.[7]
