Trafco Group, short for General Trading and Food Processing Company, is a food trading and manufacturing holding company based in the Kingdom of Bahrain, established in 1978.[1] It is listed on the Bahrain Bourse.[2]

Operations[edit]

Trafco is one of Bahrain's major FMCG companies, offering products such as canned and frozen food, dairy, meat, fruits, vegetables, nonfood products, and other commodities. It had revenues of over $100,000,000 in 2018.[3] Trafco has acquired and established companies throughout its history, among them Awal Dairy, Bahrain Fresh Fruits Company, Metro Markets, and the Bahrain Livestock Company.

Trafco has slowly entered new markets over the years, and currently exports its products to the GCC, North Africa, Yemen, Jordan, and Iraq. In 2018, Trafco renewed a lease with Edamah, the real-estate arm of Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund, which will have Edamah provide land for Trafco's future projects.[4][5][6][7]

Trafco's board of directors most recently recommended a dividend of 15% of the share capital for the year 2019.[8][9]

Trafco regularly participates in the Bahrain pavilion at Gulfood, a major annual food show most recently held in Dubai, as a gateway to enter global markets.[10][11]
