Transformed: A Tribute To Lou Reed is a tribute album released by the Mint 400 Records label. It is the label's fifth compilation, and features songs from the album Transformer, and an original song from the New Jersey indie rock band Sink Tapes.

Content[edit]

The five-track album was released for free by Mint 400 Records on 14 October 2014,[1] and showcases Tom Preisler of the Shelters, Neil Sabatino, the Maravines, Shane Vidaurri and Sink Tapes. On organizing a tribute record, Sabatino explains "if it wasn't for artists like Lou Reed with their unique voice, I doubt that myself and most of the artists on the Mint 400 Records roster would have the courage to try and sing in a band."[2] In a review from Jersey Beat, editor Jim Testa says "it's refreshing to see a tribute to Lou that doesn't pick the most obvious [Velvet Underground] hits but delves deeply into his amazing catalog, and all of these tracks do the man justice.[3]
