    Unreal Engine 6 (UE6) is an upcoming iteration of Unreal Engine, developed by Epic Games. It was revealed in May 2026 with a teaser trailer of an updated version of Rocket League running in UE6.

    Development

    Epic Games chief executive Tim Sweeney first publicly discussed the development of Unreal Engine 6 in 2024. In an interview with The Verge, Sweeney stated that the company was working towards a new version of the engine that would merge Epic Games' development tools with the systems built for Unreal Editor for Fortnite.[3]

    Unreal Engine 6 was first teased on May 24, 2026 at the Paris Majors. It was announced the 2015 video game Rocket League, running on Unreal Engine 3, would be upgrading game engines to Unreal Engine 6.[4][5]
