VaynerMedia is multinational communications, advertising, technology, and digital marketing holding company based in New York City.[3] The company was founded by Gary Vaynerchuk.[4][5][6]

History[edit]

VaynerMedia was founded by brothers AJ Vaynerchuk and Gary Vaynerchuk following the latter’s departure from Wine Library TV.[7] The company has advocated social media marketing in lieu of radio, television, and print advertising, with an early emphasis on Twitter, and later, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok.[8][9][10]

In 2015, VaynerMedia won the “Best Large Agency” Shorty award.[11] At the 66th annual Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, VaynerMedia won four Cannes Lions awards for Budweiser and Miracle Whip commercials.[12] That year, VaynerMedia acquired BetaBox from Mondelez International.[13][14][15]

In 2018, VaynerMedia convinced the town of Mayo, Florida to change its name to Miracle Whip to market the brand as part of a deal with Kraft Heinz.[16] In 2019, the agency was shortlisted for the Campaign US Agency of the Year award.[17] The company won Planters as a client from McGarryBowen, following VaynerMedia’s “YouTube Ad of the Year” in 2016 for a Budweiser commercial highlighting Chicago Cubs’ World Series win.[18] As part of a 2019 ad campaign for Budweiser, VaynerMedia assembled five families that had received assistance from Dwayne Wade, surprising him during a basketball game half time on the court.[19] In 2020, social media application TikTok appointed VaynerMedia as its US-based social media agency.[20] In 2021, VaynerMedia launched VaynerTalent to build personal brands for clients.[21]
