Welcome Homes is a property technology company headquartered in New York City that has a website which allows users to customize and buy home online.[1][2][3] It is one of the 28 property technology companies listed in the 2022 Hottest PropTech Startups list compiled by Business Insider.[4]

Welcome Homes was established in October 2020.[2] It was co-founded by Alec Hartman, Ben Uretsky, Jesse Mauro, Marc Hartman, Mitch Wainer and Moisey Uretsky.[5][6][7] The parent company is Welcome Building Corporation. The CEO of Welcome Homes is Alec Hartman, the Vice President of Design is Anthony Carrino of HGTV and the Vice President of Sales is Benjie Burford.[5][8][9][10][11][12] The company is headquartered in New York City. It was based in Miami before moving to New York City in August 2021.[13]
According to news reports, Welcome Homes was launched in October 2020 with $5.35M seed capital.[1][8][14][15] It was also reported that the online platform of Welcome Homes was launched on March 9, 2021, with 50 parcels of land located in the New York metropolitan area.[1] An April 2022 report records $18.7M as total funding of Welcome Homes.[4]
It was reported in October 2021 that Welcome Homes is serving the tri-State area surrounding New York City, including Westchester County, NY, Greenwich, CT and Morris and Bergen Counties, NJ.[1][2][8][11] Another report in July 2022 stated that it has expanded to the DMV and Philadephia.[16]
Home models[edit]
In March 2021, it was reported that Welcome Homes has a home model available to buyers that is called the Oasis,[17] which has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two office spaces across 3,340 square feet. The report gave the cost of the Oasis as starting from $600,000, depending on the features, and it also stated that the Oasis includes features like kitted-out outdoor space and dedicated work-from-home rooms. It was disclosed in the report too that a larger model with more bedrooms and an entertainment space across 4,000 square feet would be available later in 2021.[1][2]
There were reports in October 2020 and March 2021 stating that the online platform of Welcome Homes allows users to customize[3][8] the home they want to buy and when they are done with the design, Welcome Homes calculates the price and work with them to secure financing.[2]
Relationships[edit]
In June 2022, it was reported that Welcome Homes partnered with Compass to launch a "preferred agent" program. The report stated that compass agents enrolled in the program would be able to sell properties of Welcome Homes and earn a commission.[18]
An August 2021 report stated that Darell Handler and Kyle Galin of Handler Real Estate Organization rented a 4,761 square feet office from Rudin Management Company on behalf Welcome Homes. Under the transaction, Welcome Homes would occupy a portion of the 33rd floor of Rudin Management Company's office property at 41 Madison Avenue.[13]

In April 2022, Welcome Homes was listed in the yearly Hottest PropTech Startups list compiled by Business Insider.[4] It was disclosed in the publication announcing the list that after the evaluation of the nominations made by 20 real estate and construction technology focused venture capitalists, 28 property technology companies were selected.
