Early life[edit]

Bashir's family is known as the first family of textiles in Pakistan. Gul Ahmed Textiles, which was founded by his grandfather Haji Ali Mohammad, is a leading Pakistani fashion brand.

Career[edit]

Being an entrepreneur, Bashir founded ArwenTech, a leading tech company in Pakistan and in 2007, ArwenTech created a dashboard for the Mayor of Karachi to view all his departments and to see the service levels they were operating upon. There were 3 ways that citizens could register a complaint, through telephone, web and walk ins to complaint centers. The complainants would receive a number through which they could track their complaints. A drill down graphics system, changed the way the local government interacted with the citizens of Pakistan's largest city, Karachi.
