The 107th Division (Chinese: 第107师) was created in February 1950 from the rebelled ROC Army 320th Division, 111th Corps.

The division was a part of 36th Corps and was composed of 319th, 320th, and 321st Regiments.

In January 1951, the division moved to Hengshui, Hebei.

In April 1951, the division absorbed Cavalry Brigade, 36th Corps.

From September to December 1951, the division was deployed into North Korea for airfield construction and rear security missions in Taechon County.

In February 1952, the division absorbed 110th Division. Artillery Regiment, 107th Division was activated. In May 1952, Tank Regiment, 107th Division was activated.

In December 1952, the division was transferred to 69th Corps' control following the reorganization of 23rd Army Group and the inactivation of 36th Corps.

In March 1953, Tank Regiment, 107th Division was reorganized as Independent Heavy Tank Self-Propelled Artillery Regiment of Huabei Military Region and detached from the division. The regiment later became the 32nd Tank Regiment of 1st Mechanized Division. In the same month, Tank Regiment, 186th Division attached to the division and renamed as 312th Tank Self-Propelled Artillery Regiment. The division moved to Baoding, Hebei along with the corps HQ.

By then the division was composed of:

  • 319th Regiment
  • 320th Regiment
  • 321st Regiment
  • 586th Artillery Regiment
  • 312th Tank Self-Propelled Artillery Regiment

In April 1960 the division was renamed as 107th Army Division(Chinese: 陆军第107师).

In February 1967, the division moved to Jinzhong, Shanxi along with the corps HQ.

In September 1968, 312th Tank Self-Propelled Artillery Regiment detached from the division to join the 7th Tank Division.

In August 1969, 586th Artillery Regiment was renamed as Artillery Regiment, 107th Army Division.

In December 1969, the division was redesignated as 207th Army Division(Chinese: 陆军第207师). All of its infantry regiments were redesignated as follow:

  • 319th Regiment became the 619th Regiment;
  • 320th Regiment became the 620th Regiment;
  • 321st Regiment became the 621st Regiment.

In September 1985 the division was renamed as 207th Infantry Division(Chinese: 步兵第207师), and reconstituted as a northern infantry division, category B. The division was moved to Wanquan County, Zhangjiakou[1] and transferred to 65th Army following the disbandment of 69th Army Corps. By then the division was composed of:

  • 619th Infantry Regiment
  • 620th Infantry Regiment
  • 621st Infantry Regiment
  • Artillery Regiment

In July 1998, the 621st Infantry Regiment was disbanded. In August 1998 the division was reduced and reorganized as 207th Motorized Infantry Brigade(Chinese: 摩托化步兵第207旅)[1].

In 2000, Artillery Regiment, 207th Motorized Infantry Brigade was activated at Liqingzhuagn Village, Kongjiazhuang Town, Wanquan County, Zhangjiakou.

In November 2003 the brigade was disbanded. The brigade's codename was Military Unit 66088.[1]
