Cardano is a distributed computing platform that runs the blockchain for the Ada cryptocurrency.[1][unreliable source?]
Cardano was created by blockchain development firm Input Output Hong Kong (IOHK) and led by Charles Hoskinson, former co-founder of Ethereum.[1]
Cardano is administered by the Cardano Foundation, based in Switzerland. The foundation is headed by Pascal Schmid.[2]
ADA had a price peak in December 2017, at the peak of the 2017 cryptocurrency bubble.[3]
