The Communist Youth of the Peoples of Spain (abbreviated JCPE in Spanish) is the youth organization of the Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain (PCPE).

At an international level, it holds relations with communist and revolutionary youth organizations from different parts of the world.

History[edit]

JCPE was founded on 13 May 2017 in a plenary session of the youth of PCPE, at the initiative of PCPE's Central Committee and its youth organization, after the internal crisis experienced by PCPE in April 2017, which broke up with their youth organization until then, the Collectives of Communist Youth (CJC in Spanish).[1] Onwards, it was denominated as Youth of PCPE (J-PCPE).[2]

In November 2018, a delegation from J-PCPE was invited by Cuba's Union of Young Communists to visit the island, holding exchanges with the direction of political and mass organizations of the country in order to strengthen relations.[3] In December that year, the J-PCPE held its 1st Central Training School in Villarreal (Castellón).[4]

In April 2019, JCPE's 1st Conference was celebrated under the lemma "The working and popular youth stands up, we organize ourselves to win." A new logo and the name of Communist Youth of the Peoples of Spain (JCPE) were adopted. Maite Plazas was elected JCPE's Political Officer.[5] In November 2019, JCPE attended as an international delegation the 1st International Congress of Youth and Students, organized by São Paulo Forum in Caracas (Venezuela).

In 2019, 2020 and 2021 the youth has had a presence in Avante! Gathering (Quinta da Atalaia, Portugal) where meetings with diverse organizations were held.[6][7][8] In 2021 along with PCPE in his own stand in international space.[9]

On 10, 11 and 12 September 2021, in Madrid Countryside, the I Youth Camp is organized, gathering militants from the different territories of the state.[10]

Currently, it develops its political activity through several campaigns having the working class youth as their central subject of intervention. And in the international solidarity matter they continue to carry out campaigns against the Cuban embargo or in support of the Palestinian people.[11][12][13] In addition, it works on different fronts: student organizations, trade unions, neighbourhood and feminists organizations of the Workers' and Popular Front for Socialism.[14]
