Noh Yi Young (born August 16, 1992), better known by her stage name E-Young, is a member of South Korean girl group After School. E-Young attended Chuncheon Agricultural High School and K-Note Music Academy. She also studied under rocker Kim Do Kyoon.

E-young ranked #82 on TC Candler's Annual Independent Critics List of the "Most Beautiful Faces of 2013" beating out dozens of iconic Korean beauties.[1]

Early life[edit]

E-Young plays the guitar, electric guitar, bass, drums, piano, flute, cello, clarinet, trumpet, violin and the harp. She won over 30 awards for singing, dancing, piano and cello playing. E-Young won gold at the 2007 Gangwon Province Teen Song Festival as well as the grand prize at the 2008 Dong Song Festival. E-Young has also won the grand prize at the Gangwon Dance Contest, the Youth Festival Target, first prize at the Chuncheon youth singing, dancing, vocal sector, the Soyang Culture Festival Music Awards, the Youngage Music Contest, first prize at Youth Blue Festival, and the gold prize at the National Spirit’s piano music contest.

Pre-debut[edit]

E-Young made her debut with After School on their first Japanese release, the collaboration song "Make It Happen" included on Namie Amuro's album "Checkmate!".

Debut[edit]

Her first actively promoted release was After School's first album Virgin.[2] E-Young made her first appearance with After School at SBS Gayo Daejun on December 31, 2010 performing their song "Bang!". She made her "official" debut with the group on April 29, 2011 on KBS Music Bank performing their new single "Shampoo". She is a vocalist and the lead dancer of the group.

Work as composer[edit]

E-Young composed the piano line for the song "Time's Up" for After School's 6th maxi single "First Love".

Personal life[edit]

E-Young currently attends Kyung Hee University, majoring in Post Modern Music.
