In the view of some critics, Fayez Mahmood has plagiarized others' writings. In the cultural annexe of the Jordanian newspaper Al-Rai, issue of Friday 4/4/200, the Syrian thinker Sobhi Hadidi says: Fayez Mahmoud published an article entitled "Myth and meaning (Strauss)", which amounted to 965 words, in the count of the computer he uses, in which he had less than... 60 words! Except for this, the text is reproduced in its entirety from the famous French anthropological book Claude Levy-Strauss, "Legend and Meaning," which I had the honour to translate into Arabic, and its first edition was published in 1985.

Death[edit]

Adib Fayez suffered an unfortunate accident in which one of the back vertebrae was broken. He died at dawn on Tuesday, 12/7 2011,[13] [14]alone and neglected at the Jordanian University Hospital from a severe cardiac arrest, where he was awaiting a prison sentence for non-payment of housing wages.[15] Saud Kabilat points out the poor conditions he suffered.[16] He says: I know that his life was difficult and his living conditions were cruel. This is the responsibility of society and the state. This must be an example for the future to leave no writer or creator in such a bad situation. It is offensive to the country's reputation that thinkers, writers and morals suffer from such painful conditions that Fayez Mahmood has long endured. The late Minister of Culture, Grace Samawi, said that Jordan's culture had lost creatively, culturally and intellectually.[17] He will be reminded that he enriched the Jordanian Library and the Arab Library with the masterpieces of his writings, in which he witnessed the Al-Qasi and Al-Dani from the literature.
