Foresight Group International is a London based global conglomerate. It focuses on shipping, offshore drilling, Port & Gas Infrastructure and footwear components.
History[edit]
Foresight Group was founded in 1984 by Dr. Ravi Kumar Mehrotra, a marine engineer by profession. He started his first company, ASL Shipping Limited, with its headquarter in London. Foresight group shifted its headquarter to Mauritius and has diversified into oil drilling business in 1989.
Later in 2000, Foresight group entered shoe component & materials manufacturing in India. The group has evolved into an international multi-million dollar conglomerate and also manages a non-profit training institute AMTA since 2001.[3]

Foresight Shipping Limited (erstwhile Amer Shipping Limited)[edit]
Being a qualified and experienced marine engineer himself, founder of foresight group Mr. Ravi Kumar Mehrotra started his own shipping company ASL shipping in 1984. Based out of Cyprus, the company provided a crude oil shuttle service in Gulf Region. ASL shipping owns and operates fleets of dry bulk carriers, reefer ships, product and crude tankers and also a cruise ship. Today company operates charted services for global oil major around the world.
Foresight Offshore Drilling[edit]
Foresight has had a drilling division since 1989 for exploratory and development wells. Foresight group diversified into drilling sector in 1989 for exploratory and development wells. This drilling vertical has developed two Le Tourneau Supper 116e jack-up rigs oil Rigs on contract with ONGC India since 2016 and for contract One rig with ADNOC AbuDhabi, UAE started in 2019 itself.[4]
GTFC shoe component manufacturing[edit]
GTFC is a shoe component manufacturing & trading company situated in Tamil Nadu, India, with its sales offices in Chennai, Agra, and Kanpur in India and Dhaka in Bangladesh. Foresight group invested in GTFC shoe component manufacturing and trading company in late 1990s and also formed a technical collaboration with German company RhenoflexGmBH to source thermoplastic material for Shoe component.[5]
Amer Maritime Training Academy[edit]
Amer Maritime Training academy is a non-profit maritime training academy that provides training to students from economically weaker section of the society. This training enable students to find employment as sea farer and crew members. Currently the institute trains around 800 such students every year.[6][7]
Foresight Ports & Gas Infrastructure[edit]
In the fall of 2018, a new division was set up in the group to invest in businesses related to the liquified natural gas industry.[8]
Recognition[edit]
- Founder Dr Ravi K Mehrotra was presented with a lifetime achievement award at the 2019 Seatrade 30th Anniversary Award Ceremony.[9]
