Ham Enterprises Ltd commonly known as Ham Enterprises, is a Real Estate subsidiary of the Ham Group of Companies, a Ugandan conglomerate owned by businessman Hamis Kiggundu.[1]
Overview[edit]
As of August 2020, Ham Enterprises is mainly involved in real estate development and management, Agro-Processing, International Trade and book Publishing. Hamis Kiggundu, the Company's founder and C.E.O, is the majority shareholder in the company. In April 2021, Forbes Magazine Valued his net worth at US$870 million.[1]

It was established in 2009 as a private company by owned Hamis Kiggundu also having Majority of the Shares.
Hamis Kiggundu through Ham Enterprises acquires, develops and manages properties for and on behalf of Ham Group[2][3][4][5]
Projects[edit]
Nakivubo Stadium Re-Development[6][7][edit]
In 2015, Ham Enterprises was awarded a contract to redevelop and Upgrade Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium into a modern sports facility and venue with a relatively bigger capacity by the president of Uganda[8], H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. This project is currently being undertaken with Roko Construction as the lead contractor.[9][10][11][12][13]
Ham Palm Villas[edit]
This is a gated Luxury residential community in Akright City off Entebbe Express Highway with 500 homes, villas and apartments with resident: Health, Shopping and Fully Fledged Sports facilities.[1][14]
Ham Agro Processing Industries[15][edit]
Ham Agro-Processing Industries refer to 10 (ten) Integrated Agro-processing Industrial Parks (IAIPs) in the different significant agro-produce and Livestock production zones in Uganda.[16]
The company initially embarked on a US$156 million project in the central region (First Agro Zone) where advanced Integrated Agro-Processing Industrial Plants (IAIP) are being setup at Akright City as a pioneer project, with a goal of providing value addition for resident and international consumption of Uganda's Agro produce. The project aim is to promote import substitution by being able to add value to local produce instead of importation of agro-processed products. Silos (Storage Units) of over 500,000 metric ton, have already been established as reported by Forbes.[17]
The White House Uganda
The White house the administration block housing the National offices of Ham Agro Processing Industries. It is a replica of the US White House.[18]
Court case[edit]
In January 2020, Ham Enterprises (The Company) together with Hamis Kiggundu and 2 other associates indicted Diamond Trust Bank Uganda and Diamond Trust Bank Kenya for illegally debiting monies amounting to UGX 34.29 billion and USD 23.4 million, jointly from their bank accounts over a spread period of approximately 10 years.[19][20][21][22]
On October 7,2020, The Company won the suite and the High Court of Uganda ordered Diamond Trust Bank to repay all the illegally debited monies at an interest rate of 8% per year in addition to legal costs. The court also ordered the bank to completely release all mortgages allegedly created over the companies’ properties and all corporate and personal guarantees issued by the Directors.[23][24][25][26][27][28][29]
DTB Bank immediately appealed[30] the judgement in the High Court and an alleged exparte order halting payment of the monies to Ham Enterprises was Issued pending determination of the Appeal.[31][32][33][34]
Book Publishing[edit]
The Company has of March 2021 published two books: Success and Failure Based on Reason and Reality in 2018.and Reason as the World Masterpiece in 2021, all authored by Hamis Kiggundu[35]
