History[edit]

The chain was founded in 1945 by Bob Hitchcock. By 1990 the chain had 10 stores. In 2018, a store that was planned to open in Gainesville, was canceled due to budget problems. In 2019, a [5] In 2020, Hitchcock's Green Market opened in a former Lucky's Market location in St. Petersburg.[6]
