The International Association for Verification of World Trade Records, commonly known as IAVWTR, is a for-profit, global organization headquartered in Washington, D.C., United States. The company verifies trade and financial records, of importers and exporters globally, for transparency in new international trade relationships.[1] It is now standard practice, mainly in Asia, Middle East, and North Africa, for an importer to request an IAVWTR certificate from an exporter with no prior relationship. This practice ascertains exporters' trade experience in specific goods and their financial standing to execute the export after the advance payment is made.[2]
