Kishu Inu token (ticker: KISHU), is a decentralized cryptocurrency that was launched in spring 2021 by an anonymous development team with an interest in meme coins like Dogecoin (DOGE) in particular.[4][5] It was named after the Kishu Inu, a Japanese breed of dog whose origin descended from ancient medium-sized breeds and named after the Kishu region.

Kishu Inu is a deflationary currency that rewards investors who continue to purchase more coins.[6] Two percent of every transaction on the KISHU network is redistributed to existing holders of the token—a mechanism also used this year by the SafeMoon token which has faced much criticism aswell.[7]

Kishu Inu is characterized by its motto "Little Meme. Big Dream." Within a month after its launch of reaching a 2 billion market cap and over 100,000 holders.[8] However, the dog-themed crypto has declined majorly since then and carries a smaller market cap, which places it just under the 3000th cryptocurrency. During the first week of February 2022, the KISHU token made the top 10 list of cryptocurrency purchases by the 1,000 largest Ethereum wallet holders.[9]

Kishu Inu offers its Uniswap-powered decentralized exchange (KISHU Swap), which facilitates the swapping of any ERC20 token among token holders.[10]

The main competitive difference from comparable coins is that Kishu Inu is completely community-owned: the developers do not reserve tokens for the team.[11]

Security[edit]

Kishu Inu has undergone an audit by CertiK. The liquidity pool was burnt from the launch to decrease the chances of any kind of malicious activity. Users receive rewards according to the number of tokens in their wallets, the more coins are in the burn wallet, the more KISHU will be automatically burnt.[12]

Charity[edit]

Kishu Inu crypto is supporting the 'man's best friend' with their charitable work and is aiming to protect the four-legged community all around the world, one at a time. At present, the Kishu Inu team has donated enough food, hygiene products and medicines that can last for an entire year to a renowned animal shelter in Brazil.[13]

Criticism[edit]

In May 2021, a confusing situation arose around the company representing Kishu Inu. It was announced that SoftBank Singapore or Softbank Investment Pte. Ltd. had become an advisor to Kishu Inu. However, SoftBank Group Corp. and SoftBank Group stated that they are in no way involved in any such activities and that both SoftBank Group Corp. and SoftBank Group have no relationship with SoftBank Singapore and Softbank Investment Pte. Ltd.[14]
