Lockander are a fictional Belgian football team in the British comic universe. The team have appeared in the We are United strip of Champ in 1984. The club’s name is a fusion referring to Lokeren FC and Anderlecht.
History
Lockander played in the Mini European Nations Cup in 1984 against Real Malona, Hamyern, Spartax, Riverton United and St. Rheils. They were the underdogs. As they were weakened by the absence of 4 Belgium internationals who were playing in the Nations Cup in France at the same time: Berets, Van der Boon, Eyckers and Van Homst. They had finished 3rd in Belgian league in 83/84, conceding only 21 goals in 36 matches.
