Munir Essa Semon

Munir Issa Semon (1955 - September 28, 2020 ) [1]is a writer and writer from Syria, born in Qamishli.

His life[edit]

Munir was born in a small village of Fatuma to a Syriac family who migrated from Turkish lands to Syria at the turn of the century. He stayed in his city despite the emigration of many members of his family to Europe due to the terrible conditions of the Syrian war[2], and at a young age, he became one of the cultural elites in the city of Qamishli, where he stayed. He made a lot of contributions to literature and published a lot of novels and short stories.

His death[edit]

He died on the evening of Sunday, September 27, 2020, in his hometown of Qamishli, at the age of 65[3]

His writings[edit]

Munir Issa Semon has four novels and short stories, and he was preparing for a fifth novel entitled “Season of Repression” before he died before it was published.

The "Idiots" story group is the first publication of the late writer in 2015 AD, and then the "Liars" group of stories also in 2016 AD, both of which belong to satirical literature.

Chamoun also published two novels, the first entitled “I will not forget” in 2018, and the second entitled “Poet inhabited by demons” in 2019 AD, which is the last novel issued by Semon[4]. With the help of the Syrian poet Ali Al-Kaoud in 2016[5]
