"Ride" is a song recorded by American singer and songwriter Lenny Kravitz for his 11th studio album Raise Vibration. It was released as the album's sixth and final single on May 29, 2020.[3] The music video for the song was directed by Mark Seliger and filmed in Paris and Senlis, France.[4] The female companion by Kravitz side is Bermudian model Aliana King.[5][6] Kravitz explained, "We shot this video months ago in France before we could have imagined what life would be like today. After listening to the song with Mark we had a vision of expressing the song through portraying the characters of the writer and the spirit".[7]
Reception[edit]
Madison Desler of Paste wrote, "the breezy "Ride" has a nice, 70s-AM-radio-soft-rock vibe, but nice enough six damn minutes, two of which seem to just be him repeating the same two lines."[2] A review by Soulbounce states, "Always one to let love rule, legendary artist and forever fine Lenny Kravitz is back with an unexpected and much-needed break from the frenzy of the day with a new music video. The visual is for his track "Ride," which can be found on his 2018 album Raise Vibration. The song itself feels like an instant release and washes over the listener like a warm breeze. The lyrics serve as an audible love letter..."[8] David Reed of The Intelligencer commented that "Ride has a Latin groove and some tasty lines on the Mini-Moog."[9]
