Start Fitness is a sports retailer founded in 1991 and based in Cramlington, Northumberland, England. It operates through catalogues, retail shops and its website. It has three[1] retail stores in Newcastle upon Tyne, Durham and Darlington. It is a subsidiary of W & M Wholesale limited and part of the Start group including Start Cycles and Start Football.[2]
Start Fitness supports a number of local running events such as the[3] Blaydon Race in 2010, and more recently the North East Harrier League.[4]
Operations
Start Fitness has two business units based in Newcastle and Durham, with plans to open more stores nationally.
Sponsorship
Start Fitness sponsor a number of local and national running events, from the yearly Blaydon Races, to English Schools Athletic Association events.[3]
