FaceRecog Asia is a data analytics company headquartered in Singapore. It produces a family of interactive smart sensor products focused on data analytics of physical spaces.[1]

History[edit]

The company was founded in Singapore in January, 2014 by Muhd Amrullah with an initial aim was to develop a robust facial recognition algorithm that alters advertisements in real-time based on the age, gender and emotion of an individual for media companies such as Havas Media, Ogilvy & Mather and a few media agencies under the GroupM company who embraced the technology and expressed interest in deploying it.[2]

Technology[edit]

The FaceRecog Smart module combines its military-grade facial recognition algorithms and geolocation technology that enable their early partners such as Clear Channel Outdoor to intelligently analyze footfall and track the number of mobile phone users within the vicinity.[3]

Products[edit]

FaceRecog Asia offers 3 main products: demographic analytics, geolocation analytics and emotions analytics. The products are offered on a pay-per-use basis in order to reduce upfront cost for the customers and make it accessible to brands, agencies and media owners.

Awards[edit]

FaceRecog Asia, under the helm of Muhd Amrullah, is the winner of the Activate Singapore Tech Talent Day 'Open Ideas' category.[4] The startup is also selected as one of the ten most promising startups in Asia by TechInAsia and at the end of its pitch at Startup Asia 2014, the company is invited by Global Brain Corporation, an early stage venture capital firm based in Tokyo and has an office in Silicon Valley, to go on a tour to meet major corporations in Japan.[5]
